Statement

In my artistic work, I am concerned with fictional spaces that I make physically experienceable. I am particularly interested in the hypothetical and foreign that is perceived and revealed through my work. I find great inspiration above all in the science fiction genre, in films like Inception (2010), 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) and Welt am Draht (1972), or Netflix series like Black Mirror (2011-2019) and Maniac (2018), to name but a few examples. What particularly appeals to me about these future-oriented films and series is the aesthetics with which the respective spaces are staged. These aesthetics are always based on speculations and visions of the people who create them. Consequently, my self-built rooms always represent a possible, but above all, a speculative future constructed by me. In the end, they seem like placed objects or film sets and always move within the thin line between reality and fiction.
