Simone Steinegger works with objects, installations and performances. Her work is inspired on a variety of desires, from physical and psychological needs to the demands of the human mind on the immediate environment. Collecting and weaving all kinds of material, images and metaphors, but also experiences and memories, is an essential part of her artistic practice. Simone has a surrealistic approach and follows a playful and experimental process. Loss of control therefore plays an equally important role as the concrete analysis of some circumstances. She is interested in questions about the nature of things and the world in their possible alternative forms and explores the interaction between art and science with a humorous wink.
