This photograph is part of a series the artist shot in Basel in 2014 during a personally challenging time. In line with his practice of examining the routine and the mundane, he looked at the 'new' surroundings while trying to find resolutions to his personal quest of trying to be in two places at the same time - how does one transcend a moment?
The reflection of a huge church clock trapped and warped in the window of a house across the street, fascinated him. It reminded him of the illusion of time that we think we know and chase. But do we really know time?
