Statement

Susi Hinz develops sculptural works that explore the shifting relations between body, material, technology, and environment. Her practice engages with a condition in which boundaries between the organic and the mechanical increasingly dissolve, approaching sculpture as a site of transformation between different states of being. Working with organic and industrial materials, Hinz creates open systems in which matter is dismantled, reconfigured, and set into new processes. Her body becomes part of this apparatus, as form emerges through negotiation, resistance, and material encounter.
