Statement

STATEMENT My perception of what’s going on around me is affected by the rhythm of mobility. I’m an artist in transition, moving from one place to another. In my paintings, I see myself as an observer or a witness, a beholder of the events and transformations within and without myself. My pursuit in painting has always been concentrated on the understanding and rediscovery of the relations between the “Self” and the surrounding world. Throughout this exploration, I frequently encounter the diversity of places, and times, resulting in the emergence of liminal spaces. Understanding and organizing these spaces in my paintings is quite a challenge for me. In painting I have always used, directly or indirectly, the collage process. The nature of addition and removal in collage is consistent with the need to combine multiple layers of the image. The layers of the image that lead to the play between the abstract and figurative border are considered for me to be the most attractive part of the work. In many cases, this game goes beyond the two-dimensional scope of the canvas and expands into three-dimensional space with the help of the sculpture or installation to offer the public the possibility of feeling inside and part of the work.
